Golden Retriever Fact
A golden retriever fact can be found with photos on sites devoted to dogs.
The origin of the breed dates back to the 19th century, when there was a strong demand for hunting dogs. Sir Dudley Marjoribanks (later the first Lord Tweedmouth) was the first breeder who crossed high quality hunting dogs in an attempt to create a new breed. Several outcrosses and inbreeding were used to improve and fix the best qualities of the new breed. The coat texture and color of the dogs of this time varied. The coats were both straight and wavy and the coat color ranged from fox red to light cream.

Golden Retriever Fact -
photos, dogs
It is a sporting dog trained to retrieve waterfowl and small game. Its dense and water-resistant coat allows the animal to swim in cold water and its athletic build presupposes hard work and endurance. These dogs stand 22-24 inches and weigh 60-75 pounds. These dogs are relatively healthy and live for 10-14 years. They require lot of exercise every day, but should be kept indoors in cold weather and in a fenced yard if the weather is warm enough. This breed sheds a lot and needs regular brushing and bathing. A golden retriever fact can be found with photos on sites devoted to dogs.
